SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS INTERNATIONAL
ADVANCING THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF ANIMAL THROUGH AWARENESS, ADVOCACY AND ACTION WORLDWIDE
As I sit and review SPCA International’s progress over the course of 2015, I am heartened and inspired by what our programs have accomplished. I am also reminded that our victories would be nonexistent without the help of our supporters. Each milestone we celebrate, you celebrate with us. Each problem we face, you help us find the solution.
In 2015, just like the years before it, we focused on our mission of “Advancing the safety and well-being of animals.” But what makes this year standout are the incredible strides we have made toward that mission.
One achievement in 2015 that is near and dear to my heart is the establishment of “Sam’s Cause,” a fund that directly benefits the victims of dog fighting. I met Sam in Romania after he had been used as a bait dog in a fighting ring. Sam’s injuries were devastating, but they were no match for his spirit. Despite all odds, Sam made a miraculous recovery and is now in a forever, loving home.
Sam’s plight was not in vain. Through the generous support of our donors, we established
“Sam’s Cause” that aided in the recovery of other victims of this barbaric sport that are in the care of domestic and international organizations. We will continue to award grants in Sam’s honor every year in addition to other efforts to end this cruel practice.
There are so many other moments that I am excited to share with you in this report. I invite you to join us in making the world a kinder place for animals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for caring so deeply about our cause, and for believing every life is worth saving.
With gratitude and respect,
Meredith Ayan, Executive Director
